FLORENCE-Florence Arts and Museums is celebrating Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)! Join us Saturday, October 31, from 1 to 4 pm at Southall at KD for this free family-friendly, community program. Guests may come and go as they please. This event will also feature Latine Art from the Kennedy-Douglass Art Collection and complimentary hot chocolate.
Explore the history and cultural significance of this traditional Latine holiday through hands-on activities including flores de papel (tissue paper flowers) & papel picado (punched paper) making, ofrenda (altar) decorating, and more! Drop in to our Memory Box Workshop and create your own miniature ofrenda. Bring a small picture of a loved one, a pet, or a favorite celebrity that has passed on. All other supplies will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.
