DeWonne Kelly Warren, passed away on December 25,2024. She was born on September 25, 1958 as the only child of the late William A. Kelly and Betty Jean Taylor Kelly. DeWonne had a vivacious personality, made friends easily, and never met a stranger. She graduated from Tupelo High School in 1976. On May 5, 1989, she married Ronald Dean “Ron” Warren in Lee County. Together, they were the proud parents of Kelly and Will. DeDe spent over 20 years as a Pharmacy Tech with Jim Bain’s Pharmacy, a job that put her in contact with so many people who became her special friends. She was an ace saleswoman for 12 years in the furniture industry earlier in her life. DeDe also worked as a receptionist at Sanctuary Hospice House where she was beloved. She loved country music and her favorite singer was George Straight.
She was a wife of 35 years, a mother for 34 years, and a grandmother for the last 12…loving her family to the utmost. Her favorite pastime was spending time with them. She loved hanging out with her friends, going to the beach, and taking girl trips. She enjoyed attending Chesterville Calvary Baptist Church with her daughter.
A Life Celebration Service will take place at 2 PM Monday, December 30, 2024 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Chaplain Lenton Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 12-2 on Monday only at Holland-Tupelo, which is honored to be serving their friends. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park in Verona. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed at 2 PM Monday at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Live-streaming.
DeWonne is survived by her loving husband, Ron Warren of Tupelo; their daughter, Kelly Lamons (Emrick) of Chesterville; their son, Will Warren (Morgan) of Charleston, S.C. & her grandchildren: Eddie, Hudson, Ivy, and Liam; her beloved in-laws, the Warren’s, several cousins and other extended family.
