Dewey Willard Horton, age 95 of the Moreland Community, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018.
He was born November 26, 1922 to Jake and Willie Mae Horton. A lifelong resident of the Moreland Community, served in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Horton was a member of New Home Baptist Church, where he proudly served as a Deacon.
Visitation will be Monday, February 19, 2018 from 1 – 3 p.m. at the New Home Baptist Church-Moreland Community, where the service will be held at 3:00 p.m. . Burial will be in the Moreland Cemetery. Bro. Greg Alred will officiate the service.
Mr. Horton is survived by his wife, Marie Horton; daughters, Brenda Hamby, Judy Chambers, Deloran Dukes, Helen Alred; grandchildren, Barry Hamby, Cory Chambers, Robin Heard, Shayla Wray, Danny Alred, Greg Alred, and Kimberly Roberts; a host of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Willie Mae Horton; sisters, Grace Hill and Gladys Posey; and brothers, Ray, Bob, Raymond, and Billy Riddle.
