Dewey “Monkey” Moore

Dewey “Monkey” Moore, 82, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024, at The Meadows. He was born August 11, 1942 to the late Roy E. Moore and the late Annie Curtis Langford Moore. He worked at JESCO for 33 years before his retirement. He was veteran of the Army National Guard, where he proudly served his country for 22 years, finishing his career with the rank of Master Sergeant. Monk was known for his abilities of telling the best stories and having entertaining conversations. He enjoyed going to Roy’s to watch NASCAR, sitting on the front porch at the cabin with his friends and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday January 3, 2025, at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Joseph Jones officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday January 2, 2025, at Senter Funeral Home.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his daughter, Madonna Steele of Fulton; son, Matt Moore of Fulton; grandchildren, Chance Steele, Conner (Gabby) Moore, and Lilli Moore; great grandchildren, Riley Brown, Maverick Moore, and Hudson Levi Moore, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Gail Moore; parents, Roy and Annie Curtis Moore; grandson, K.C. Cooper; and two sisters, Jean Patterson, and Louise Waters.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Mears, Johnny “Wad” Adams, Roy Summerford, Keith Reese, Ray Barrett, and Tracy Ward.
Honorary pallbearers will be his great grandsons, Riley Brown, Maverick Moore, and Hudson Moore.
