Mr. Dewayne “DW” Adams, age 45 of Athens, AL passed away on August 25, 2019 at his home. He was born on September 19, 1973 in Lester, AL.
Mr. Adams is survived by his parents, James “Buddy” Adams and Lena Smith Adams; sister, Micki Clem ; nephew, Lee Thomas all of Athens, AL and children, Samantha Leigh Bendick of New York, Brandon Dewayne Adams of Japan and Jenna Ann Adams of New York.
Mr. Adams served in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army National Guard for over 21 years. He was in the Military Police for 9 years as an investigator with the U.S. Marine Corps as an E6 Sargent. While in the Army National Guard, he served 1 year in Iraq. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed playing baseball, softball and loved bowling. Mr. Adams graduated from Clements High School where he played in the band. He also liked cleaning houses for 3 special elderly ladies.
Services for Mr. Adams will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Jerry Scearse officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 PM on Friday, August 30, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Dement Cemetery.
