Devona Dalphine Shannon, 89, of Killen died Sunday, December 20, 2015, at her residences.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Woodlawn Church of Christ from 9-11 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM, with Matt Heupel, John Paul Heupel, and Scott Sewell officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Elkins East Chapel is assisting the family.
She was a member of the Woodlawn Church of Christ.
Mrs. Shannon was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Paul Shannon and her parents, Grady and Annie Bassham of Loretta, TN.
Mrs. Shannon is survived by her daughter, Laurel Ann Sewell (Milton); son, Phillip Shannon; three grandchildren, Scott Sewell (Amy), Shannon Sewell (Karen), and Holly Sewell McCall (John); six great-grandchildren, John Sewell, Abbie Sewell, Michael Sewell, Anniston McCall, Grady McCall, and Wiley McCall; three sisters, Marie Townsend (Bob), Jo Ann Bosheers, and Christine King; brother, Lilburn Bassham (Venora); two long term employees, Robbie Killen and Danny Robertson; and foster granddaughter, Karen Harrop.
Pallbearers will be Scott Sewell, Shannon Sewell, John McCall, John Sewell, Michael Sewell, Grady McCall, and Wiley McCall.
Memorial donations may be made to Mars Hill Bible School or Freed Hardeman University in Henderson, TN.
The family thanks Hospice of the Shoals and her caregivers, especially Jean Thornton, Sandra Robinson, Mabel Reaves, Susie Russell, Sheryl Smith, and Haley Smith and Dr. William A. Hobbs.
