The funeral service for Denny Stephens, age 42 of Fruithurst, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Rev. Kevin Acre officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Stephens passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia. He was born in Baton Rouge, LA but had lived in Alabama for many years. Denny was a great competitor and was involved in Special Olympics for many years. He participated in many events such as bowling, softball, and basketball. He was loved by everyone.
Denny is survived by his father, Jimmy and Mary Stephens, Sr. of Holden, LA; six siblings: Rhonda and Scott Randall of Heflin, AL, Jimmy and Amy Stephens, Jr. of Port Vincent, LA, Chris Stephens of Queensbury, NY, James Hembree, Jr. of Fruithurst, Jennifer and Robert Bush of Gainesville, GA and Larry Winkles, Jr. of Fruithurst; 11 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Joann Winkles Stephens.
Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on March 25, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
