Dennis Leroy Maxwell, age 70, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 3rd, 2023. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 6th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., in the chapel at Morrison Funeral Home in Cherokee. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Bro. Steve Slaton officiating with a private burial at a later date.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy (Simp) and Katie Maxwell, and his firstborn son. He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Deanna Terry (Lee); sons, David Maxwell, Daniel Maxwell (Tosha); brother, Tim Maxwell; sisters, Mary Ann Willis, Rita Thorne (David); grandchildren, Ashlynn Maxwell, Sydney Maxwell, Karli Jo Maxwell, Evelyn Maxwell, Lydia Maxwell; father-in-law, Bobby Williams; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Rich (Steve).
Dennis was a member of Cherokee First Baptist Church. He was a chemical operator at Cherokee Nitrogen.
The family would like to express special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Compassion Outreach at Cherokee First Baptist Church.
