Funeral for Alice L. Howell Roper, 93, of Trinity, will be Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 1:00pm at South Decatur Church of God with Pastor Jay Rhoades, Gary Campbell and David Hembree officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 12:00pm-1:00pm at the church. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Roper was born April 13, 1930 in Lawrence County Alabama to Joseph and Dora McDougle Wood, and died Sunday, September 3, 2023 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Raymond Howell, and her second husband, Ben Roper.
She is survived by her four children, Bobby Howell of Trinity, Donnie Howell and wife, Debbie of Flint, Peggy Howell Thorn and husband, Bobby of Hillsboro, and Carolyn Howell Hembree and husband, David of Trinity, Seven Grandchildren, and Eleven Great-Grandchildren, and Three Great-Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Howell, Daniel Howell, Benjie Engle, Landon Engle, Landon Pendleton, and Gary Pendleton.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Thorn and Greg Shadder.
