Dennis James Creecy was born August 31, 1951 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late Elbert O. Creecy and Lucille Estelle Brison Creecy. He was united in marriage to Janice Kay Andrews on January 1, 1972. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration at Bethal Unitversity. Dennis honorably served his country in the United States Army then retired from the United States National Guard where he was a Civil Engineer Technician. He also worked for 28 years as a truck driver. Dennis was a member and Deacon for many years at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Westpoint, TN. Dennis departed this life on July 21, 2023 in Columbia, TN at the age of 71 years, 10 months, and 21 days.
He is survived by his wife Janice Creecy of Westpoint, TN; daughters, LeAnn Gordon and husband Todd of Pulaski, TN, and Andrea Woodall of Westpoint, TN; brother, Raymond Doyle Creecy and wife Ellen of Waynesboro, TN; sister, Linda Newborn of Lutts, TN; grandchildren, Maygan Woodall and fiance Ethan Hinkley, Cobe Gordon, Bryson Gordon, and Aniston Gordon; and several brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Rich.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Jerry Robbins and Steve Nave officiating. Burial will follow in Shawnettee Cemetery with Military Rites. Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
Pallbearers will be Shane Luker, Ryan Luker, Jake Luker, Robert Mercier, Vince Newborn, Tim Newborn, Chris Creecy, Bradley Hanback, and Brian Hanback.
