Denise Jones Moats, 58, of Moulton passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at her home. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Donald Kidd officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Born on August 17, 1962 to the late “B.B.” and Helen Finley Jones, Denise enjoyed playing the piano, sharing recipes, cooking, canning, crocheting, the beach, and collecting sea shells. She also loved camping with her husband, fishing, and spending time with her friends and family.
Survivors include her son, Christopher Moats (Hailey Oliver, girlfriend); daughter, Amanda Haddan (Brian); grandchildren, Dustin Avery Jones, Lane Keith Haddan, Reni Sherrill, and Braxton Gibson; sisters, Vicky Kidd (Donald “Boe”), and Sherry Jones (Tony); and numerous other extended family members.
Denise was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Bruce Moats; son Dustin Jones; her parents; brother, Ricky Jones.
Pallbearers will be Chris Moats, Dusty Jones, Dustin Terry, Brian Haddan, Mark Terry, and James Moomaw. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Martin, Braxton Gibson, and her nephews.
The family extends special thanks to the nurses and staff of Encompass Hospice and Home Health.
