Demarise Reed Sargent, 70 of a Sumiton, passed away Sunday March 1, 2026 at her residence.
Sister Demarise was a member of Sipsey Chapter 565 and Lamon Chapel Chapter 334 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also served in the Eastern Star as Grand Martha.
Among the many loves of her life was her family, first and foremost, especially her grandchildren. She loved crafting, and loved cruising.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Amy and Tammy Driver, and her parents, Harold and Billie Reed.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Terry Sargent; children, Ronnie Driver (Kandice), Jeremy Driver (Erin), Don Dorman (Kristie) Marc Sargent (Amy) and Billy Dill (Jessica); grandchildren, Alexandria Goodwin (Tyler), Logan Driver, Jessica Jones, Micah Sargent (Riley), Dalton Sargent, , Aaron Belcher, Justin Dorman, Faith Watters (Eli), Hope Vining (Colby) and Grace Acker; several other relatives and many friends.
A Memorial service will be held Thursday March 5, 2026 at 7:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Bro. Buddy Sparkman and Bro. Richard Schultz will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm.
The family would suggest any memorial donations be made to the Huntington Disease Society of America.
