Delores Jean Bernard Moore, age 71, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012. Visitation will be Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Derek Paetow officiating. The burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery of Tuscumbia.
Mrs. Moore was a graduate of Deshler High School and Druid City School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at Druid City Hospital and Helen Keller Hospital and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, William Moore; parents, Leon and Martha Belle Bernard; and brother, Jerry Bernard.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie McDowell and husband, Shawn; sister, Susan Bernard; and grandchildren, Jordan Ashley Fields, Macey Fields, and Shelby Fields.
Pallbearers include John Ellett, Jim Creel, Earl Dean Thomason, Nello Kelso, Sammy Richardson, and Bryce Tidmore.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Helen Keller Library or St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
