Delores Brooks, age 67, of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center, with her loving family surrounding her.
Delores was a native of Maury County; born on July 29, 1950 to the late Lester and Annie Chapman. She was married to Bill Brooks for 39 years before his passing. Delores was a mother of four, she had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her children and grandchildren more than anything. She raised her children like a “mother bear”; she truly loved them and did all she could to stand up for, protect, and keep them safe. She looked forward to each visit that she had with her family. Delores’ brothers and sisters were very important to her; each day she would spend time talking to at least one of her siblings. She loved to play cards, drink coffee, and travel. Delores was a member of the Summertown Church of Christ where she loved going to church and loved her church family.
Delores is survived by her children: Christina (Lawrence) Hauser, Bill (Laurie) Brooks, Gary (Rachel) Brooks and Lois Brooks; Grandchildren: Crystal Martin, Andy Hyder, Ben Hyder, Morgan Brooks, Emalee Brooks, Sonya Brooks, Gary Brooks Jr., Jayden Brooks, Janelle Brooks, Gary Alan Hayes, Danielle Arnold and Jacob Arnold; great grandchildren: Kailah Martin, Kourtney Martin and Kynslee Hyder; siblings: George (Jimmie Faye) Chapman; James (Rosemary) Chapman and Vivian Shomo as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her siblings: Junior Chapman, Bonnie Wirt, Shelby Harris, Thomas Chapman and Patricia Chapman.
The Brooks family will visit with family and friends on Friday, May 25, 2018 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10:00am at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with Ricky Glass officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Bill Brooks, Gary Brooks, Ben Hyder, Gary Alan Hayes, Travis Beach, Gary Brooks Jr., Matt Brusseau and Bobby Pitts.
