Della Browning Lentz – Obituary

1Della Browning Lentz ,71, passed away, Wednesday February 13, 2013 at Mandarin House, Hospice of the Chesapeake in Harwood MD.  The funeral service will be held today Sunday February 17, 2013, at 1pm in Greenview Memorial Chapel with her brother-in-law, Don Hawkins, officiating.  Burial will be in Corum Cemetery, Lexington, AL.

 
Della was born in Clintwood Virginia to the late Rosville and Effie Cox Browning.  She was married to Joe Lentz in Norfolk , Virginia on June 16, 1963. 
She began her adventure as a faithful Navy wife travelling around the country with Joe and their children.  They spent many of their 33  Navy years in Norfolk ,VA and Charleston, SC.  Della was a devoted mother to Teresa, Pamela and Corey.  She volunteered in their schools, as a scout leader and for the Red Cross.  She loved nurturing flowers and all the things she could grow in her yard. She gave unconditional love to her family. She was always there to listen to their joys, sorrows and help nudge them along their journey through life.  She was proud of Joe’s achievements throughout his Naval career and loved to see him in his uniform. She was always by his side as his unfailing partner in all things. 
 
She is predeceased by her siblings Ray Browning, Haskell Browning , and J.L. Browning.
She is survived by her siblings Ernest Browning, Helen Fleming, Christine Sykes, Annette Stallard , Eva Hawkins, and Emory Browning. 
Her husband Commander Joe Lentz, 2 daughters Teresa (Paul ) Evans of Newport News VA ,  Pamela Lentz of Turbeville, SC  and son Robert Corey Lentz of Callaway, MD.   Her grandchildren Hannah McConaughy, Rachel McConaughy , Connor Evans, David Evans, Brittany Evans and Lindsay Evans.  
 
Della has left us with a legacy of love, courage and faithfulness. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
