DeLeon Barr Jr. passed away peacefully at home April 20, 2024, after dealing with multiple serious illnesses. He was born August 25, 1934, to Mary Annie and DeLeon Barr Sr. in Pike County (Troy) Alabama.
DeLeon served in the Air Force and was a member of the Navy and Army Reserve. After graduation from Troy University, he accepted a career with the Federal Government, from which he retired in 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Katie Renfroe Barr; children, Mike, Ricky, Tommy, and Ronnie Barr; sisters, Gay Phelps and Vivian Ezell; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tamara Barr Bice; granddaughter, Amber Barr Johnson; and brothers, Sonny and Joe Barr.
Private services will be held with burial at Hampton Cove Cemetery.
