Delbert Arthur Kimbrough Sr., 84, of Paint Rock, Alabama, passed away on December 4, 2023. Born on May 23, 1939, Delbert led a life marked by dedication and service.
A proud US Army veteran, Delbert served as a Drill Sergeant for 7 years, embodying discipline and commitment throughout his military career. Following his service, he dedicated the majority of his life to the mobile home industry, leaving a lasting impact through his hard work and dedication.
Despite life’s challenges, Delbert found solace in simplicity, cherishing moments with his beloved dogs during his retirement years. His steadfast love for his family remained unwavering, despite the loss of a son, Delbert Arthur Kimbrough Jr., who preceded him in death in 1994.
Delbert is survived by his son, Charles Arthur Kimbrough, three grandchildren—Mishelle Vickers, Morgan Kimbrough, and Mason Kimbrough—and a great-granddaughter, Hadleigh Rogers. He is also remembered fondly by his two sisters, one brother, and numerous extended family members.
In honoring Delbert’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. His ashes will find their final resting place alongside those of his children’s mother in a small family cemetery in Bergton, Virginia.
Delbert Arthur Kimbrough Sr. will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to his beloved family during this time of loss.
