Deena Lynn Potts, 67, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 23, 2017.
She leaves her husband of 22 years, Franklin Odie Potts; sister, Patricia Lois Roberts and brother, Connie Malcolm Roberts; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Crowe, Jennifer Lois Parrish and Kerri Lynn Kinzer; granddaughters Stephanie Corder, Casey Lane and Katie Torres; grandson, Jerad Pauley and great-grandsons, Christian, Hudson and Bentley She was preceded in death by father, James Floyd Roberts, mother, Addie Belle East Roberts, brothers, Floyd Kennon Roberts and Billy Franklin Roberts; sister, Lacy L. Baldi; granddaughters, Chelsea Marie Pauley and Braelynn Mae Schwab.
Deena was born in Chicago, IL, on June 30, 1949. She later moved to Maury City, Tennessee, at the age of 12. She graduated from Maury City High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She worked in appeals for the State of Tennessee for 26 years. She was the cofounder of the Discipleship House in Mt. Pleasant. Deena enjoyed art, quilting, sewing, flowering and spending time with her family. She was an animal lover and leaves behind her babies, Alley and Dixie. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church for 21 years.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M at the Riverview Baptist Church in Columbia with David Buffaloe officiating. Entombment will follow in the Polk Memorial Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Crowe, Alan Parrish, Stephen Westmoreland, Lloyd Witherspoon and Kirby Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be Rosemary Bone and Sylvia Finch.
