In 2016, SSAC announced a partnership with the City of Decatur Parks and Recreation Department and Decatur Morgan County Tourism to host the SSAC Softball Championship at Wilson Morgan Softball Complex in Decatur, Ala., for two years. The original two-year agreement has been extended through the 2025 season.
“Each of the championships in Decatur have been outstanding, and we are excited for this year’s event. The Decatur Morgan County Tourism, City of Decatur Parks and Recreation Department and Wilson Morgan Complex staff go above and beyond to create a first-class atmosphere for our student-athletes, coaches and spectators,” stated SSAC Commissioner Mike Hall.
The SSAC is one of the premier NAIA conferences, founded in 1999, with 11 member institutions across Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. The Montgomery, Ala.-based conference sponsors 20+ intercollegiate sports, culminating in 20+ neutral-site conference championship events held annually throughout the Southeastern region of the United States.
Wilson Morgan Softball Complex features six lighted fields, centrally located concessions, quad, press box and batting cages. Each field has a clay infield and beautiful grass, maintained by electronically controlled underground irrigation systems.
