DECATUR-The Decatur Police are looking for the man they say shot and killed another during a Tuesday evening, January 26 robbery. Decatur Police Department’s Violent Crime’s Unit determined Saul Ocampo had been shot during a robbery in his home by Christopher Andre Swoopes. Swoopes is wanted for Capital Murder in the murder of Saul Ocampo.
Decatur Police issued this BOLO :
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On January 26th, 2016 at 6:28pm, Officers with the Decatur Police Department’s Patrol Division were dispatched to a shooting at 408 6th Avenue Southwest.
Officers arrived at the home and located the deceased body of Saul Ocampo, lying in the doorway of the residence.
Detectives with the Decatur Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit were called to the scene to begin an investigation into Ocampo’s death.
During the course of the investigation it was discovered that Ocampo had been shot during a robbery by Christopher Andre Swoopes.
Swoopes fled the scene and at this time his whereabouts are unknown. Anyone with information about the homicide is urged to contact the Decatur Police Department at (256) 341-4660 or Detective Burleson at (256) 341-4633.
