Decatur Man Charged With Trafficking Fentanyl

DECATUR– The Decatur Police Office wrapped up a drug investigation with the arrest of a suspect and recovered drug paraphernalia and trafficking amounts of Fentanyl:

“Between the months of January – March 2023, the Decatur Police Department received multiple complaints regarding Tommy Lee Nicholas, 54, of Decatur, selling narcotics in Southwest Decatur.
During the course of the investigation, Investigators with the Decatur Police Department’s VICE/ Narcotics Unit were able to obtain a search warrant for Nicholas’ residence.
On March 20, 2023, Investigators executed the search warrant at his residence in reference to the ongoing drug investigation. Investigators located two trafficking amounts of fentanyl mixture narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Nicholas was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of trafficking in illegal drugs. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and held in lieu of a $60,000 bond per a Morgan County Circuit Court Judge.
“The defendant is accused of the above crimes and should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
