DECATUR-On Thursday, December 30 the Decatur Police and Fire Departments were called to a house fire in the 400 block of 7th Avenue Northwest. According to the Decatur Fire Marshall the fire was determined to have started in a bedroom.
The Decatur Police say the suspect allegedly assaulted a family member around the time the fire started. The victim was taken to Decatur Morgan Hospital before being transferred to UAB, say the Decatur Police.
After investigation Decatur Police arrested Charles Louis Shaw, 33 and charged him with Arson 1st Degree. Shaw was booked into Morgan County Correctional Facility on a bond of $1000,00. The investigation is ongoing.
