DECATUR-The Decatur Police were called to a residence in the 2200 block of Sweetbriar Road in reference to a burglary.  Here is how the Decatur Police describe the events leading up to the arrest of one man:

“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On January 31st, 2015, Officers of the Decatur Police Department were dispatched to the 2200 block of Sweetbriar Road SW at approximately 4:30 P.M. in reference to a burglary report. Officers arrived in the area and spoke with the victim who reported a Homelite Pressure washer missing from the residence and a description of the suspect’s vehicle was given to officers by the victim.
Officers were also dispatched to the 600 block of 3rd Avenue SW at approximately 6:00 P.M. in reference to Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle, where the suspect’s vehicle was identified as the vehicle in a earlier burglary report. The victim advised he had multiple work tools stolen from the inside of his vehicle and a report was taken.
On January 31st, 2015, at approximately 7:00 P.M., the suspect’s vehicle, containing items from the previous thefts, was located by Officer Rutherford and the suspect was identified as Jonathan Stover. Stover was detained pending further investigation and Det. Hightower was called to the scene. Upon arrival Det. Hightower had Stover transported to the Decatur Police Department.
Through further investigation, Stover was subsequently charged with Burglary in the Third Degree and Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle. He was booked into the city jail where his bond has not yet been set.
The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected.”
