Mrs. Debra Jean Davis Smith Harris, age 71 of Talladega, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Clay County Hospital. A memorial Service will be planned for a later date.
Mrs. Harris was a resident of Clay County for most of her life. She worked for the Russel Corporation as a Line Waitress for around 20 years, and also at Design World in Oxford for several years. Mrs. Harris enjoyed working with silk flower arrangements and would often deliver handmade silks to flower shops all over the South. Mrs. Harris loved her son and grandchildren dearly, as well as her dog, Tyler.
Mrs. Harris is survived by her son, Jerrid Smith (Amy) of Lineville; four grandchildren: Ashleigh Williams (Justin), Jasmine Ray (Jonathan), Joshua and Joanna Smith; five great-grandchildren: Jaylee, Jace, Jameson, Ace and Lilah; three sisters: Maxine Smith of Ashland, Kathleen Lodrigez of New Orleans, LA, and Sharon Miller (Bruce) of Sylacauga; three brothers: David Davis, James Davis, both of Ashland, and Glenn Davis of Millerville, plus a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: J.C and Ethel Bell Burkhalter Davis; her sister, Mattie Kennedy; and one brother, Richard Davis.
