Deborah Thurman Tonkin, age 75 of Fort Payne, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025. She was born on July 21, 1950 in Fort Payne to the late Ernest, Sr. & Inez Fox Thurman. She was a 1968 graduate of Fort Payne High School.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, November 28, 2025 at Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, Gregg Tonkin; children, Melissa Croft (Chris), Chelsea Tonkin, Kenneth Tonkin (Ronda) and Kellie Lopez (Jose); grandchildren, Emeline, Alohilani, Annabella, Kennedy, Rayne, Skyler, Madisyn, and Elijah; great-grandchildren, Liam, Alessia, Ella, and Emma Rose; siblings, Bud Thurman (LaRae), Steve Thurman, Pam Thurman, and Danny Thurman (Leshia).
She was preceded in death by her sons, Wilburn H. Hall, III and Derik Tonkin; and her parents.
She always tried to walk on the sunny side with her quiet strength and faith. She found joy lifting others. Always a mother at heart!
