Born December 25th, 1949, passed away peacefully at home in Selmer, TN on January 13th, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Debbie was born to Gordon & Lea Riemer in Beloit, WI.  She was a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School in 1968 and went on to study at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  Throughout her life Debbie enjoyed being with her family & friends.  You could often find her at Tilley’s Pizza laughing with her life-long high school girlfriends.  She loved traveling and had the personality and the natural charisma to make friends wherever she went.   She had never been happier since marrying the love of her life, David Michael Siebel in 2019.  While spending “every moment together” she enjoyed reading books, being outside working in the yard, and tending to their flowers.  She was a selfless woman whose passing leaves an unfillable gap in the hearts of her loved ones.  Her ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will forever be engrained in everyone who knew her.

Debbie is survived by her husband, David Siebel; children Sam Swanson, Sarah (Wei-Li) Shao, Dan (Kari) Swanson; Brother Peter (Marty) Riemer; her stepstepchildren-children with David, Michael (Leona) Siebel, Dawn (Ken) Van Horn; grandchildren Anna, Emerson, Cass, Ali, Alyssa.  She is further survived by her dear high school friends Debbie Westervelt, Lynn Kein, & Judy Olson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon & Lea Riemer; and her beloved springer spaniel, Rosemary.

Debbie wanted to thank all of her compassionate medical teams at Kirkland Cancer Center in Jackson, TN; MD Anderson in Houston, TX; and Legacy Hospice in Selmer, TN.

Details for a celebration of life will be shared at a later date.  Condolences for the family can be directed through Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Appendix Cancer Research Foundation (acpmp.org) in Debbie’s name.
