Graveside services for Mrs. Debbie Pitts Strickland, age 63 of Millerville, were held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Millerville Community Cemetery with Bro. Scott Railey officiating.
Mrs. Strickland passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at her home. A lifelong resident of Clay County, she was a graduate of Bibb Graves High school with the class of 1975. She attended Southern Union College where she obtained her nursing degree. Mrs. Debbie was an RN for many years at Clay County Hospital where she retired. Her children, grand and great-grandchildren were her life and she loved them more than life itself. We know Debbie was met at heaven’s gate by her beautiful daughter, Laura, her sisters, Lisa and Patty, and her nephew, Steven Arnold.
She is survived by her son, Brett Strickland and daughter in love, Patsy Strickland; her mother, Polly Pitts; Brett’s’ father, Stanley M. Strickland, all of Millerville; five grandchildren: Lauran Strickland, Chaise Hay (Gwen), Courtlyn Hay, Caydey DeLoach and Cassidy Terrill; four great-grandchildren: Kale, Liam and Harper Hay and Tre’Lynn Tucker; her brothers-in-law, Bruce Kimble (Ava) of Lineville and Neal Arnold; her nephew, Nick Kimble (Ashley), both of Horns Valley; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Douglas Pitts; her daughter, Laura Strickland; two sisters: Lisa Kimble and Patricia Arnold; and her nephew, Stephen Arnold.
Pallbearers were: Neal Arnold, Nick Arnold, Stanley Strickland, Edward Taylor, Bruce Kimble, and Harold Bailey.
Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of the arrangements.
