Mrs. Debbie Frances Nix Burch, 57, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023 at her residence in New Albany. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 15 at Grace Pointe Church of God with interment in Glenfield Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until service time at the church. Services will be officiated by Bro. Mark Bowers and Bro. James Wells.
Debbie was born on June 25, 1965 in New Albany, MS to Frances Leach Mayo and the late Gerald Dean Nix. She spent the majority of her career working at Baptist Medical Center in New Albany as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. While working at Baptist, she received many accolades for her dedication, including the Daisy Award. There was nothing that brought her more joy than caring for others- whether it be her family or her patients. She saved the lives of many babies and left a lasting legacy through her work, and many nurses learned from her. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed sewing and arts and crafts. Debbie was an absolute joy to be around and will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
In addition to her father, Gerald Dean Nix, Debbie was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Wayne Nix as well as her nephew, Charles Wayne Nix. In addition to her mother, Frances Mayo (Jimmy) of New Albany, she is survived by her husband, Tommy Burch of New Albany; son, Kris Burch of New Albany; sister, Serita Curtis (Michael) of Myrtle; and grandchildren, Brianna Westmoreland (Andrew) of New Albany and Sophie Burch of New Albany. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Isabella, Josie, and Liam Westmoreland of New Albany as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Sally Curtis , Kris Burch, Andrew Westmoreland, Joel Burch, Danny Burch, Jason Burch, and Brandon Hood.
