Deatra "Dee" Diane Walker “Dee” Diane Walker was born on August 8,1969 and passed away December 1,2022. Dee brought sunshine to everyone she met. She never forgot your name or where she last saw you. Dee was very competitive. She loved all the Special Olympics events and won her share. All that knew Dee knew she had a shadow and love of her life, Sam Esensoy.  Where you saw one, there was the other. Smiling and giggling and sharing what they loved together; listening to country music, dancing, and watching Alabama football.

Even though she dealt with many special needs and health issues in her life, she still embraced every moment to its fullest. May we all see life as wonderful and be as present as she was.

Dee’s mother recently passed away Friday, February 10, 2023.  She is preceded by her father; David Walker; her brother JP; stepfather Richard Burton; uncle Bobby Weidman; grandparents Robert and Lavon Weidman; grandfather EO Walker; step grandfather Dick Womack; Dee’s and JP’s half-brother Dylan Walker; uncle Scott Walker; aunt Patt Walker Myers and a beloved cousin Tabor Walker Myers.

She leaves behind her grandmother Maedelle Walker Womack; Dee’s and JP’s half-sister and half-brother Morgan Walker and Michael Walker; Burton family; nephews Kevin and Chris Weidman; step grandmother Faye Weidman; aunt Debbie Walker Bevill; Debbie’s three daughters Misty, Kristy, April and their families; cousin Treavor Myers and family.

In addition to Sam, she also left behind special friends Annette Prestidge and her children Justin and Heather; Heather’s children Zoey and Abby. She loved each one of them with all her heart.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested the following for memorial gifts:
