Deane Storie  Deane Storie, 96, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Born August 8, 1923, in Albany, KY, she was the 9th of 10 children, and the last surviving child. Her parents, Fred and Nola Stockton, owned the local country store that serviced their rural community. She grew up working hard on her family’s farm and met her husband at the town coffee shop where she worked. He was there with a date, took the date home, returned to the shop, purchased a dime milkshake and tipped Deane a quarter.

Deane and Leonard Storie were married 56 years before his passing. She was also predeceased by her son, Jerry. Many people described Deane as the kindest person they ever knew. Her family agrees and misses her terribly but knows she is home with the Lord and reunited with many loved ones who have gone before her. Deane’s favorite charities were Trinity United Methodist Church and The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

She is survived by her daughter, Krista Campbell Gibson (Roger); granddaughter, Caroline Deane Campbell Bivens (Nathan); grandson, Michael Todd Storie (Lorraine); great-granddaughters, Emilia and Elise; and many beloved step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, and Friday from 12 to 1 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mac Buttram officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
