Funeral service for Dean Hampton Hogan, 92, will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Friendship South of Danville with Rev. Bruce  Fitzgerald  officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.  Her body will lie in state for two hours prior to the service.  Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery (South of Danville).  Visitation will be Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Friendship South of Danville.

Mrs. Hogan died on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Summerford Nursing Home.  She was born December 23, 1924, in Lawrence County to Henry Travis Hampton and Nancy Lena Persall Hampton.  She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Danville. She loved working with flowers and grew beautiful ferns. She loved cooking and was known for her angel food cakes.  She worked in the kitchen at Summerford Nursing Home for 15 years and where she was known for her baking skills. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyal Hogan and her parents.

Survivors include:

One Son:
Leroy Hogan  (Phyllis)

Two Daughters:
Dianna Appleton (Waymon) and
Janice Hogan Long (O’Neal)

Eight Grandchildren

Eight Great Grandchildren

Two Great Great Grandchildren

Pallbearers will be John Appleton, Lee Hogan, Jessie Posey, Jake Wilburn, Ray Miller, and Shad Bomar.

In lieu of flowers: Family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Heart Association.
