Dawson E. White, Sr. On Friday, March 19th, Dawson E. White, Sr., a faithful Servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, passed away at the age of 100.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, he was loved by all who knew him. He was born August 8th, 1920 in Mobile, Alabama and lived there for much of his life until moving to Huntsville, Alabama in 1964. He married the love of his life, Alice Ray Nicholas, on October 28th, 1942, and they raised three sons together: Dawson White, Jr., Larry White, and Richard White. He had great pride for his United States of America serving in the U.S. Army in both World War II and Korea.

He had many interests over the years (serving as a Church Deacon in multiple churches over the years, for example), but his greatest loves in life were his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his wife, Alice, and his entire family. “I love ALL my family,” he would often say. “Thank you, Jesus for saving me and for my family.”

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; his son, Larry; and his great-grandson, Jackson.

He is survived by his sons, Dawson, Jr. and Richard; his grandchildren, Dawson III, Brian, Kimberly, and Ashley; and his great-grandchildren, Dawson, Dylan, Joseph, Luke, and Hannah.

His loving attitude, kind words, and encouraging nature will be greatly missed by his family and numerous close friends. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 23rd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, and a funeral service will be held at Whitesburg Baptist Church, South Campus Chapel on Wednesday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m.
