Mr. Dawson “Bud” Burfield, 80, of Spruce Pine, Alabama, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his residence. He was a native of Franklin County, Alabama, and had lived in the area most of his life. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he retired from TVA in 1994 as a belt line operator and attended the Church of Christ.
Visitation for Mr. Burfield will be Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Jeff South and Jack Henson. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Phil Campbell, Alabama. Pallbearers will be Tim Burfield, Jamie Swinney, Tracey Raper, B.J. Horton, Chris Fincher, Lonnie Burfield, Caden Daniel, and Rick Burfield. Honorary bearers will be David Sizemore and James Pearl.
Mr. Burfield’s survivors include his wife, Mary Nell Burfield; children: Anthony Burfield (Doddie Aday), Jeff Burfield (Kelli), and Brad Burfield (Nikki); siblings: Delsie Miller (Stan) of Rockford, IL, Bill Burfield (Faye) of Phil Campbell, AL, Jim Burfield (Rose) of Rockford, IL, Elsie Overton of Hackleburg, AL, and Elaine Johnson (Billy) of Decatur, AL; grandchildren: Jake, Kayli, Kolby, and Kynli Burfield; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding Mr. Burfield in death were his parents: L.W. and Vergie Swinney Burfield; siblings: J.V. Burfield, Lavern Burfield, Loyd Burfield, and Martha Fincher.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Franklin County Relay for Life.
