Davon Cortez Shackelford, a gift from God was born March 9, 2014 in Decatur, Alabama to Cortez and Brittney Gladney Shackelford. Our little angel was called to the Lord on June 1, 2015 at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Davon was a special, precious little angel that God loaned to us for a season. He was a happy baby that was loved by all of his family. We thank God for the time he allowed us to have him.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Antoinette “Nikki” Long.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Cortez and Brittney Gladney Shackelford of Decatur; two sisters, Divia and Raegen Shackelford of Decatur; grandparents, Malcolm L. (Sherry) Shackelford, Jeff (Akia) Toney and Ruthie Garrett all of Decatur; great grandmother, Mattie Lewis Shackelford of Decatur; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday at Macedonia C.P. Church in America with the Reverend Mary Marshall officiating and inhumation to follow in Roselawn Garden of Memory.
