David William Burroughs, age 81, of Empire, passed away November 24, 2020. He is predeceased by his parents, William Arthur Burroughs and Mary Teresa Poteau Burroughs, brothers, Danny Burrows, Larry Burroughs and sister, Diane Burroughs Carlisle. David is survived by his son, Michael Burroughs (Ericka); grandsons, Chris Thomason, Austin Thomason (Rachel Emma); brothers, Jerry Burroughs, Jimmy Burroughs and sisters, Jeanette Burroughs Keith and Lorraine Burroughs Wilson. David loved being outdoors, especially walking, fishing and treasure hunting with his metal detector. He enjoyed helping others and was happy to give whatever he could to anyone in need. David never met a stranger and loved making conversation with anyone who was blessed to meet him. A graveside service will be held in New Horizon Memorial Gardens, Friday, December 4, 2020 at 11am. Rev. Gene Cook officiating.
