David Weaver Orme, born to Carl and Echtyl Orme June 23, 1936, was known to friends as “Dave,” passed away on April 4th, 2018 at the age of 81 years.
He grew up in Priceville and lived most of his life in Huntsville. After graduating high school he served in the United States Navy for three years. After discharge from the Navy, he continued his service to his country as a civil servant working for the Federal Aviation Administration for 35 years, retiring in 1992.
During his life he was active in his community coaching youth teams, serving in various positions in Little League, Babe Ruth, and other youth sports organizations. He was a member of the Huntsville Jaycees. He served the church in many capacities.
He loved God, his family and friends, fishing, southern gospel music, and a good laugh.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sara; sons, Monty, Tony and Carl; grandchildren, Tim, Ashley, Zack and David; great-grandchild, Emery; his brothers, Billy Don and Harold; and sisters, Bobby, Shelia, Betty and Minnie Lee.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville. Visitation at Murphy Hill Baptist Church, Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Funeral services 11:30 a.m. Burial in New Center Cemetery in Hartselle.
