Wayne Robinson Mr. David Wayne Robinson, age 74, of Caledonia, MS, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham after a brave fight against leukemia. .

Wayne was born May 7, 1951, in Columbus, MS, to the late Ivan Almus and Edna Faye (Rickman) Robinson.  He served in the Alabama National Guard for over 25 years.  He was a county agent for the Alabama Cooperative Extension System where he retired with 30 years of service working with farmers, gardeners, and 4-H students.  Wayne, or Batman as many called him, was native to Lamar County and had many friends and family in the community.  Some of his fondest memories came from shooting rifle matches with National Guard teammates, road cycling with family and friends, building projects with his grandchildren, cooking, singing in his church choir, going on family trips, and teaching Sunday school.

He graduated from Lamar County High School in 1969.  He later graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in 1978 and then with a master’s degree in 1983.

Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Herman Robinson, and his parents, Ivan and Edna Faye Robinson.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Brenda Robinson, of Caledonia, MS; two daughters, Rachel (Brandon) Eubanks of Madison, AL and Sarah (Scott) Hughes of Homewood, AL; four grandchildren, JR and Colt Eubanks, and Evie and David Hughes; one brother, H.L. (Jo Ann) Robinson of Amory, MS; his sister-in-law, Gaila Robinson of Vernon, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 25, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at Egger Cemetery in Caledonia.  Visitation will be Monday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM, at Grace Methodist Church.
