David Waymon “Mumbler” Nichols

On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, David Waymon “Mumbler” Nichols, 64, departed this life at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Funeral Services honoring the life of David will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 2PM, in the Memory Chapel of New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care with Bro. Jonathan Garrison officiating.  Visitation will be from 12 Noon until time of service. Burial will follow in the New Harmony Cemetery in Blue Springs.

David was born on September 28, 1959, in Union County to the late Herman and Dorothy Holmes Nichols.  He received his education from the East Union Public School System and was a valued employee of Superior Products and Leggett Platt for 25 years until his retirement.

A Christian of Baptist faith, David enjoyed the simple things in life such as hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, playing music around campfires at the deer camp while having a cold one.

Those left to cherish his memories include one sister, Machelle Huene of Wilmington, NC, two brothers, J.R. Nichols (Shelia) and Andy Nichols both of Blue Springs, and one sister-in-law, Pam Nichols of New Albany.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Shelia Jones and one brother, Sammy Nichols.
