David Raymond Oxendine, 73, passed away in Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 7:45 am following an extended illness.

David was born on May 9, 1952. He was raised in Wheaton, Maryland and graduated from Wheaton High School where he was quite the track star.

David joined the Army and proudly served his country for 9 years as a Corporal E4. During that time, he did a Tour of Duty in South Korea, where he met and married his wife, Christine. After his South Korean Tour of Duty ended, he was reassigned back to the United States. He was enrolled in a two-year Electrical Engineering course which trained him to work on repairing Radars, Missiles, and Hawk Systems. He was assigned to several army bases across the United States to work on those systems. His last assignment was at the Strategic Air Command (SAC) at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Alabama. After leaving the Army, he and his wife resided in Huntsville, Alabama for the remainder of his life.

David had a heart for helping people. He was always looking out for others, lending a listening ear, extending a helping and loving hand, and giving advice when asked. Family was important to him. When it came time for our father to need help as he was aging, David went to live with him and stayed with him until he passed on, at which time David returned to Huntsville. He always enjoyed our yearly family reunions and whenever possible always made an effort to attend.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Wilma Oxendine and brother, Gary.

David is survived by his wife, Christine; his brother, Lee (Sarah); his sister; Jeannie; and nephew, nieces, and cousins.

No services are planned at this time.
