David R. Smith, aged 69, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at his home in Oxford, MS. Born on August 8, 1956, in Lafayette County to Donald J. and Carolyn McLarty Smith, David dedicated 40 years of his career to Georgia Pacific in Oxford. He was a cherished member of the Boy Scouts community and loved spending time with his family during gatherings and cookouts.
David is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Lisa Smith, his three children, two in-laws, eight grandchildren, one goddaughter, and one grand goddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren.
No public funeral services will be held.
