David M. Mueller, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on April 26, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary (Bruha), sons Thomas and his wife, Giulia (Zanella), and David; his mother, Anita O’Keefe, brothers Melvin and Albert, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin, sister Ann Mueller-Augustin, and brother Thomas.
David grew up in New Orleans and graduated from Bonnabel High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard where he served for 11 years. He then joined the US Department of State and was stationed in various posts throughout Europe, Africa, and South America. During this time, he met and married Mary, and their two children were born. After retiring from the government in 2011, he and his family made their home in Decatur, Alabama where he worked as a real estate agent and photographer.
A celebration of life will be held later in the year. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to stjude.org.
