David Lee Garrie, age 83, of Leighton, died Monday, January 19, 2015. His family will receive friends Saturday, January 24, 2015, 1-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Richard C. Fox officiating. Burial will be in Shaw Cemetery.
Mr. Garrie was a life- long resident of Leighton. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was retired from TVA. He was a member of Ford City Baptist Church, an avid hunter, fisherman, Alabama football and Atlanta Braves Baseball fan. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy.
He is survived by his sons: David L. Garrie Jr. (Jan), Roger Garrie (Kelly), James Garrie (Barbara); daughter, Judy Johnson (Dexter), six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Keith Garrie, Kory Garrie, Kyle Garrie, Daniel Garrie, Jimmy Garrie, and Joey Garrie.
Honorary Pallbearers are James Robinette and the Rook Club in Leighton.
