David Lee Boyd Profile Photo David Lee Boyd, aged 79, of 110 Jackson Street, Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 7, 1944, to Harold and Louise Boyd in Mount Pleasant, he TN, was a cherished member of the community.

David graduated from Haylong High School in 1962, where he demonstrated his leadership skills as the captain of the football team. His commitment to his faith was evident early on and continued throughout his life. A devoted Christian, he was a founding member of New Song Baptist Church, contributing as part of the worship team, a Sunday School leader, and a deacon.

On August 12, 1962, he married his beloved wife, Linda Ann Dye Boyd, who preceded him in death on February 6, 2020. Together, David and Linda were a beacon of love and support in their community, known for their philanthropic spirit, especially as foster parents for abused and neglected children.

David and Linda raised their four children in Mount Pleasant, engaging deeply in youth sports, camping, recreation, and golf. David was notably member number 10 at the Mount Pleasant Country Club. He retired in 1994 from Rhone Poulenc, a division of Bayer Corporation, and post-retirement, he continued dedicating his time to his family, community, and church, touching numerous lives with his generosity and kindness.

David is survived by his children: Leann (Jim) Hendrickson, Rhonda Boyd, Terry Boyd, Bobby (Shelley) Boyd; grandchildren: Jimmie Hendrickson, Joey Hendrickson, Emma Hendrickson, Ashley (Destry)Boyd, Gracie Boyd, Shannon (Daniel) Price; greatgrandchildren: Bentley and Bella Boyd and one on the way; siblings: Donnie Boyd and Shirley Cube; and sisterinlaw: Sue Boyd.

David is preceded in death by: his wife: Linda Boyd; his parents and Harold and Louise Boyd; and siblings: William and Charles Boyd.

A service for David will be Monday at 1:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee with Danny Grooms and Peter Sierson officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday at 11:00 AM to the start of the service at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. David will be laid to rest at Polk Memorial Gardens.
