David Lash, 83, of Elgin, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 with his devoted children by his side. A lifelong resident of Lauderdale County, David was a 1960 graduate of Lauderdale County High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and later retired as a millwright from Delphi.
David was a faithful member of Happy Valley Baptist Church and later attended Center Star Baptist Church. As a young husband and father, he answered the call to ministry as a Baptist preacher of the Gospel and devoted his life to sharing his faith with others.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel with his son-in-law, Cody Gross, officiating. Burial will take place at Belew Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Peyton Gross, Braden Gross, Brogan Gross, Brodie Utley, Cole Utley, and Eli Rayburn.
Mr. Lash was preceded in death by his parents, James & Marie Lash; wife, Linda Lash and brothers, Fred Lash and Ray Lash. He is survived by his loving children, Kevin (Rhonda) Lash and Karin (Cody) Gross; grandchildren, Scotti (Brock) Utley, Brittney (Chance) Coates, Peyton (MaKenzey) Gross, Braden (Lillian) Gross and Brogan Gross; great-grandchildren, Brodie and Cole Utley, Kip and Hendrix Coates, Jude & Cain Gross and his sister, Faye (Kirby) Correll.
