David Kyle BarnetteDavid Kyle Barnette, 47, died 23rd October 2018 at his home in Johnson City, Tennessee. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. at the Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church in Decatur, Alabama on Friday, 2nd November 2018. A Funeral Mass will be held at noon after visitation. Interment will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery located in Johnson City, Tennessee.

David was born on 13th April 1971 in Decatur, Alabama to Thomas and Diane Barnette. He joined the Navy in 1992 where he gained the rank of Ship’s Serviceman. He received a Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation and the National Defense Service Medal. David left the Navy in 1997 and moved back to Alabama. He married Wendy Lawson in 2011, who was the love of his life. After her passing, David moved to Johnson City, Tennessee in 2013 where he was actively involved with the Mountain Home Veterans Affairs Healthcare System.

David is survived by three brothers, Roger (Monica) Barnette, John (Stephanie) Barnette, and his twin Kelly (Beth) Barnette; stepdaughter, Cassidy Border and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

David is preceded by his wife Wendy; parents, Thomas and Diane Barnette; and sister, Diana Barnette.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Disabled American Veterans Charity (dav.org) or the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (nchv.org)
