It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of David Keith Townley, age 53, who passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. David was born on February 7, 1973, and was a man who deeply loved his family, valued time together, and proudly served both his country and those around him throughout his life.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 9th, 2026 at 10:30am at Argo First Baptist Church at 6748 Hwy 78 East, Cordova, Al, 35550. Harold Spradlin will officiate.
David served in the United States Navy, carrying a spirit of dedication and honor that remained with him long after his military service.
David treasured time with family. Holidays were especially important to him, and he always looked forward to gathering everyone together for Thanksgiving and Christmas. He believed family mattered and he worked hard to make sure those moments together were cherished and remembered. His catch phrases, laughter, love of family and his smirky smile will live on in memory.
David was preceded in death by his beloved “daddy,” Harold L. Spradlin.
He leaves behind, Kimmy Prescott; his son, Michael Townley; his mother, Deborah Spradlin; his brothers, Harold J. Spradlin (Kasey), William Spradlin (Stephany), and Joseph Spradlin (Randee); along with many nieces and nephews and a great nephew.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the memories shared, the laughter he brought into our lives, and the love he gave so freely. David’s legacy of family, loyalty, and togetherness will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.
