Sixty-seven years young, David Jerome Poe affectionately known as “Poe” departed this life for a heavenly home on Sunday, January 7, 2024, in Chattanooga, TN.
David was born on October 18, 1956, in Chattanooga, TN to the late Robert Kenneth “Jim” Poe Sr. and Daisy Doss Poe. He was the youngest of four siblings and preceded in death by his brothers Robert Kenneth Poe Jr. and Richard Lee Poe. Leaving one loving sister, Bernice (Shelton) Jackson.
David was a graduate of Scottsboro High School then served in the US Marine Corp.
To cherish his beautiful memories and to celebrate a life well spent, David leaves 4 children: David Lee Poe; Ledelphia (Robert) Moser; Devin (Shannon) Johnson; and Rodderick Wilkes; Six grandchildren: Tyra Horton; Leland Moser; Tyland Moser; Lela Moser; Roland Moser; Nyla Johnson; Kylie Johnson; a great granddaughter, AuBri Mitchell; a significant other, Ella Barron; two aunts, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Rudder Funeral Home of Scottsboro. The family will receive friends at Rudder Funeral Home on Saturday beginning at 11 am until time of service.
