David Jerome Atchley, 59, of New Hope, passed away Friday.
David was born in Huntsville, AL. He grew up in Owens Cross Roads, AL and graduated from New Hope High School. He was a great athlete and played football, baseball, and basketball. As an adult, David enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, and golfing. He loved to watch the Alabama play football and the Atlanta Braves. He was a proud dad and a proud grandad. He is very loved and will be greatly missed by all!
David is preceded in death by his father, Donald Ray Atchley; his grandparents, Bertha and Burley Atchley; William and Unav Swaim.
He is survived by his son, David Justin Atchley (Holly); his mother Judy White (Dwayne); his sister, Melissa Hutchison; step-sister, Karen Yiengst (Tommy); his precious grandchildren, Lilly and William Atchley.
Visitation will be Monday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Cody Gilliam officiating.
Interment will be in Moon Cemetery.
