David Glenn Smith of Medon, passed away on October 25, 2020 in Jackson. He was 77 years old.

He was born on June 4, 1943 in Jackson to the late Thomas Henry and Florence Glenn Smith. He was a painter and carpenter. He was also an active member of Clover Creek Baptist Church in Medon. He loved music and served as the choir director for a short time in church and could play several instruments. After graduation from Southside High School he joined the Air Force where he served with honor while stationed in Japan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Thomas Edward Smith, and Philip Henry Smith both from Medon, and a great-nephew.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Melva Smith of Medon, two nieces, Melissa Smith of Medon and Melinda Newman of Cedar Grove, and two nephews, Tommy Smith of Medon, and Danny Smith of Memphis. He has 7 great nieces and nephews, and 8 great-great nieces and nephews.

David was a kind and generous person who loved his family. He willingly gave of himself to help anyone of them out. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
