David Doyle Fitzhugh, 71, of Bartlett, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at Ava Maria Home in Bartlett. Funeral services will be 12 PM Saturday, at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley with interment to follow in RIpley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Fitzhugh retired from Memphis Light, Gas, and Water after 38 years as a customer service representative. He was also a long-time member of Maranatha Baptist Church in RIpley. He loved bluegrass gospel music and played his favorite instrument, the banjo, in bluegrass bands in his youth. His love of music had a great influence on his son and grandsons.
He is survived by a daughter, Melissa Sweeney of Bartlett; a son, James Fitzhugh of Anguilla, MS; four grandchildren, Jessie Sweeney, Aidan Fitzhugh, Joe Sweeney, and Liam Fitzhugh and one great-grandchild Svea Rose Humphrey.
